Pinecone lives at The Villages
When we say Pinecone serves The Villages, we mean it literally. Our storefront is at 2921 The Villages Parkway, inside the plaza that sits at the entrance to The Villages Golf and Country Club. If you live inside The Villages, we are a short walk or a two minute drive.
The plaza itself is outside the gated portion of the community, so you do not need a resident sticker or a visitor pass to reach us. Enter The Villages Parkway from Aborn Road and the plaza is on your right, before the main gate.
Pinecone has been at this address for over a decade. Vivian founded the program in 2008 at the Silver Creek Sportsplex further up Aborn Road, then moved to our current Villages Parkway home as the program grew. The Villages families we typically serve
The Villages is a 55+ community, so our student families here look a little different than in surrounding neighborhoods. Most of our Villages student families fall into one of three groups:
- Grandkids visiting grandparents. Kids who spend part of their summer or school breaks with grandparents inside The Villages. Some families use Pinecone as a consistent summer program that continues between visits online.
- Multi-generational households. Some Villages residents have adult children and grandchildren who live nearby in Evergreen or Silver Creek, and Pinecone becomes the natural after-school stop.
- Referrals from Villages residents. A significant chunk of our current families found us because a Villages neighbor mentioned Vivian to a friend in the wider Evergreen area. Word of mouth inside The Villages has been running for years.
What our Villages families work on
The programs are the same as everywhere else. What tends to be different for Villages families is the schedule. Grandkids visiting for a summer or a school break might do intensive daily sessions rather than the standard twice-weekly cadence. Occasional visitors might do a mix of in-person during trips and online in between.

Finding us inside the plaza
Enter The Villages Parkway from Aborn Road. The plaza is on your right almost immediately, before the main community gate. Look for the "Pinecone Active Learning" sign on the storefront. Parking is free and directly in front of our unit.

- Absolutely. Many of our students are grandkids who spend time with grandparents in The Villages. The plaza at the entrance is open to everyone regardless of whether they live inside the community. Grandparents drop grandkids off at Pinecone all the time.
- How do we get in through the gate?
- You do not need to go through the gate to reach Pinecone. Our plaza sits outside the gated portion of The Villages, at the community entrance. Just enter The Villages Parkway from Aborn Road and the plaza is on your right.
- Is there parking?
- Plenty. Free parking directly in front of our unit in the plaza. Drop-off and pickup are quick.
- What are your hours?
- Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Closed weekends. Most families schedule sessions after school pickup.
- What if my grandchild lives out of state and only visits occasionally?
- We can be a summer or holiday program for occasional visitors, or a fully online program between visits. Many Villages grandparents use Pinecone as the tutoring their grandchildren look forward to during Bay Area trips.
- Do you offer any programs specifically for The Villages residents themselves?
- Our programs are designed for children ages 3 through 8th grade, so we do not offer adult programs. That said, we get referrals from Villages residents all the time for their grandchildren and for families they know in the surrounding neighborhoods.
- How long has Pinecone been in The Villages plaza?
